Privacy Policy

Last updated 12 October 2026

Who we are

Together for Change Initiative (TCI), formerly the Arawelo Women Organization (AWO), is a national, non-governmental and non-profit organization headquartered in Kismayo, Jubaland State, Somalia. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website and when you contact us. TCI is responsible for that information.

Information we collect

We only collect the information we need:

  • When you use our contact form: your name, your organization (if you give one), your email address, the topic you choose and your message.
  • When you email, call or visit us: the details you choose to share with us.
  • When you visit the website: our hosting provider processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, so it can deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • respond to your message or enquiry;
  • follow up on partnership, funding, volunteering or media requests you raise with us;
  • handle feedback, complaints and safeguarding concerns in line with our Feedback & Complaints and Safeguarding policies;
  • keep a record of our correspondence for accountability and reporting; and
  • keep this website secure.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we will not add you to a mailing list without your agreement.

Who we share it with

We only share personal information:

  • with TCI staff and volunteers who need it to respond to you;
  • with service providers that run this website and our email on our behalf: Cloudflare, which hosts the website, and Spaceship, which provides our email service;
  • when the law requires it, or when it is necessary to protect someone from serious harm.

Our service providers may store or process information outside Somalia. We choose providers that protect information with appropriate security measures.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it to respond to you, to keep accurate records of our work and to meet our accountability and legal obligations. After that, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.

Keeping it secure

The website uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), and messages sent through the contact form are delivered to our mailbox over an encrypted connection. Only authorized TCI staff can access our inbox and records.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you;
  • correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete your information; or
  • stop using your information for a particular purpose.

To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on it, and we will respond as soon as we can.

Children

This website is intended for adults. If you are under 18, please ask a parent, guardian or another trusted adult to help you contact us. If you need to report a safeguarding concern, you can contact us directly at any age.
